Sensicast Wins Best of Sensors Expo Award

NEEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2004--Sensicast Sensimesh Development System Receives Gold Medal in Communications and Networking Products Category.

Sensicast Systems, provider of wireless sensor networking products and solutions, today announced it received the Best of Sensors Expo Award from the editors of Sensors magazine as part of the publication's awards program at this year's Sensors Expo in Detroit, June 7-10, 2004.

The editors of Sensors magazine awarded the Gold Medal to Sensicast's Sensimesh Development System in the category of Communications and Networking Products. The Sensimesh Development System provides OEMs and end users with the easiest way to get sensor networks up and running in minutes. Based on the Sensicast Sensor Networking Platform, the Development System delivers an environment in which developers and system integrators can quickly develop applications and build and test sensor networks prior to their deployment.

"We chose the Sensimesh Development System because it is designed to support all major networking hardware -- a fact that makes it not only helpful but versatile. It promises to empower engineers to quickly develop sensing applications -- and easily deploy and control the associated sensor networks," said Barbara Goode, group editorial director of Sensors magazine. "The editors of Sensors believe that Sensicast's unifying approach to sensor networking will have a significant impact on the industry by helping OEMs and integrators create solutions from among multiple vendors and networks, thus we awarded the company our top 'Best of Sensors Expo' recognition."

The Sensimesh Development System provides a unified way for developers and integrators to create monitoring and alerting applications using a bi-directional, multi-hop, mesh sensor network. The system dramatically simplifies the integration of external analog, digital and other sensors and actuators, and includes a software interface that provides simple configuration for comprehensive testing and management of the network.

"Our goal at Sensicast is to enable companies and end users to create sensor networks without worrying about sensor compatibility, application integration and deployment planning," said Paul Sereiko, CEO of Sensicast. "We're honored to be recognized by the editors of Sensors magazine for our work in the sensor networking space -- this award validates our approach of enabling the cost-effective deployment of sensor networks and applications in any number of environments."
